Safe Browsing

We do everything we can to provide a family-friendly, safe environment at all of our Kiosks.

Using an industry high-level content filter we work towards protecting all customers from inappropriate images and websites.

What are content filters? In general terms, content filters are computer programs designed to limit access to certain types of content on the internet.

It is important to note that the use of filters is not mandatory in Australia, either under law or the Internet Industry Association Codes. Users at home or in the office can choose whether or not to install filters, and if and when to activate them. Likewise, ISPs (and Internet Kiosks like us) are not required to filter or monitor internet traffic. However, due to the public nature of Hi Speed’s services and our adherence to community values we will continue to employ a content filtering solution.

Whilst we take content filtering very seriously, even the very best filters can sometimes (very rarely) let questionable content through. Therefore we will be maintaining active awareness of Internet content and take appropriate action on prohibited and potentially prohibited content, including email.

Under law we are required to refer offensive material and pass any appropriate information to the Australian Communications and Media Authority and relevant law enforcement agencies.
